Event programme: 12.30- 13.00: Light lunch and networking 13.00- 14.00: Lecture followed by questions and answers Speaker: Salvatore Di Falco, Professor in Environmental Economics, University of Geneva Professor Salvatore Di Falco’s research focuses on the intersection between environmental and development economics. He has analyzed the contribution of natural resources such as biodiversity on agricultural productivity, food security, and weather risk in arid environments. His work also explores the role of institutional structures (common property forests) on natural resource conservation, rural development and poverty reduction. Professor Di Falco will speak for 30 minutes about his recent research on the climate challenges facing farmers on the African continent and the drivers for how they adapt. This will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.
