The Ministry of Tourism has launched summer 2018 offer, under the theme "Discover beauty of Oman". This offer includes 51 hotels which have attractive packages during the season to take advantage of the exceptional tourism elements of the Sultanate in the summer. This is the season when the temperature in the Jabal Akhdar or green mountains dips to 25°C, when there are rains and drizzle in Dhofar governorate and when tourists enjoy swimming in the cold waters of Masirah Island as part of other such components. Saleh Bin Ali Al Khaifi, director marketing in the Ministry of Tourism, said that the campaign, which was launched on May 21, 2018, will last for 3 months and will focus on the low-temperature areas in various governorates of the Sultanate. These areas are Jabal Shams, Jabal Akhdar, Al Ashkhara Beach and a number of Omani villages and wadis as well as the beaches stretched across Al Wusta governorate. He said that the campaign was aimed at bolstering the domestic tourism movement as well as attracting tourists from among citizens and residents of the GCC countries, as well as introducing tourism sites of the Sultanate which can be visited during summer.
