Introduction This document provides Extreme Networks software lifecycle planning information for use by customers and partners, and outlines the timeframes when software feature enhancements, maintenance releases, and technical support are available. WARRANTY: Extreme Networks offers firmware, operating system software, and application software products, with various warranties included in the software purchase price. Please refer to specific product literature for warranty details. SERVICES: Extreme Networks also offers various services at additional cost. Refer to the Services Solutions web page for details: http://www.extremenetworks.com/support/ Only products which are covered by warranty, or a valid service contract are eligible for software upgrades, and technical support, per the specific terms of the warranty or service contract. ExtremeXOS operating system software is typically supported three years after the General Availability (GA) of a major release. – End of Engineering (EoE) occurs 24 months after initial GA, and no new features or scheduled maintenance releases are planned after this date. – End of Support (EoSupport) occurs 36 months after GA, and no more bug fixes or patch releases are planned after this date. Major releases are typically scheduled every six months while sustaining releases are scheduled every three to six months.

Firmware is regularly enhanced to offer industry standard and Extreme Networks value added features. Major releases are typically scheduled every six months while maintenance releases and bug fixes are released as required. Firmware updates are available while the product is covered under warranty or service contract (refer to product warranty and service contract for details). Extreme Wireless Extreme Wireless Convergence Software • •

Extreme Networks will concurrently support two releases of Wireless software for shipping hardware products: the current feature release and the previous feature release. Extreme Wireless software support is typically provided for three years after the hardware product end of sale. Support is limited to maintenance and hotfixes after the end-of-sale of any hardware. Features are supported at the discretion of Extreme Networks based on the hardware capability.
