INVITATION The Local Organising Committee of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry invites you to attend the Conference to be held at the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific from Wednesday to Friday 3–5 October.

A selection of four Pre-Conference Workshops will take place on Tuesday 2 October. This year’s theme “to infinity and beyond” will stimulate delegates to think outside the square as it showcases the work of international speakers who push the boundaries of our current knowledge in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. There will be a mix of plenary sessions and symposia as well as specific sessions for proffered papers, posters and workshops and a line up of excellent overseas speakers. They are: Philip Shaw is an Earl Stadtman Investigator based at the National Human Genome Research Institute and he has an Adjunct Faculty appointment with the National Institute of Mental Health, USA. Richard Williams OBE is the Professor of Mental Healthy Strategy at the Welsh Institute for Health and Social Care, the University of Glamorgan, Wales. He is currently President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Andrea Landini is a member of the Faculty of Scuola Bolognese di Psicoterapia Cognitiva in Bologna Italy and is on the visiting faculties of several other Italian schools of cognitive and family systems psychotherapy. Julio Licinio is Director of the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University, Canberra. He is the Editor of Molecular Psychiatry, Translational Psychiatry and The Pharmacogenomics Journal. Hinemoa Elder – Julian Katz Orator Hinemoa Elder is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and works for Hauora Waikato New Zealand. She is the Chairperson of Te Kaunihera mo Ng-a- Kaupapa Hauora M-a-ori The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and also Chairperson of the Arts Regional Trust (ART).

Numbers are limited for both the workshops and breakfasts and registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. If you are unable to pay by credit card, there is a cheque opportunity and an invoice will be emailed to you at the time of registration. Your transaction for this on line registration will be listed on your credit card statement as ACUVENT. If funding is being sought through your institution, please keep a copy of your registration tax invoice/ receipt to follow up on its progress through your institute’s accounts department. Delegates whose registration fees have not been received prior to the conference will be required to pay their registration by personal credit card prior to the conference or on registration. No registration fees are to be outstanding following the conference. Cancellation and Refund Policy Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Meeting Secretariat. Cancellations received prior to 24 August wiII receive a full refund less $110 cancellation fee. Registration refunds after 24 August will only be made in exceptional circumstances. Liability In the event of industrial disruption or other unforeseen circumstances, the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and L&R Contract Business Services accept no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by delay. Registration Acknowledgement All registrations will be acknowledged with a tax invoice following payment. Further details will be provided closer to the conference. Registration Desk The registration desk will be located on Level 1 of the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific. Opening Hours The Registration Desk will be open from 0800 on Tuesday 2 October and throughout the conference.

ACCOMMODATION Accommodation has been secured by the Conference Secretariat at the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific. Your accommodation booking must be secured by credit card details. When registering, on the on line system, your credit card details used for your payment will be provided to the hotel to guarantee your booking.

Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific $259 per night – single/twin or double including one breakfast. Families, where possible, will be accommodated in interconnecting rooms. Only bookings made through the Secretariat will secure the conference rates. Note: Accommodation has been secured at the same rate for those who wish to stay either before or after the meeting. Accommodation following the dates of the meeting will be available on a request basis. Check in time at all properties is 1400. Please note that the hotel will not guarantee availability of your room before 1400. If you are not arriving at the hotel prior to 1800, please advise the Conference Secretariat, to ensure that your room is kept for you.

Deposits A deposit for one night’s tariff must be paid to confirm your reservation. The deposit will be forwarded to the hotel and the amount deducted from your account when you check out. No accommodation refunds will be made for cancellations received after 24 August.

Change of Booking Any change to a reservation must be notified through the Meeting Secretariat and NOT directly with the hotel.

Thursday 4 October 1900–2330 A surprise transfer to one of Sydney’s latest waterview venues for a funfilled evening with partners, friends and colleagues. An evening not to be missed. Transfers will be provided back to the hotel. Function is included in registration fee.

GENERAL INFORMATION Venue Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific is nestled perfectly to enjoy the very best of the Australian lifestyle. Located directly opposite Manly Beach and only 15 minutes from Sydney’s CBD by the Manly Fast Ferry or a leisurely 30 minutes via ferry. The ferry terminal is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The distance between the airport and the hotel is 35 kms. Accommodation rooms present uninterrupted views from the Manly district to the ocean and beyond. The hotel offers all day dining in Zali’s Restaurant, two hotel bars, a heated pool and fitness room.

Climate October in Sydney is usually a perfect month with sunshine perfect for a beach location and temperatures around the low 20s.
