The cyclonic storm ‘ROANU’ over north Bay of Bengal moved east-northeastwards at a speed of 38 kmph during past six hours and lay centred at 1130 hrs IST of 21 May, 2016 over northeast Bay of Bengal near latitude 21.9 deg N and longitude 91.0 deg E, about 60 km south of Hatia and 100 km west-southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh). The system will continue to move east-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast close to Chittagong by evening of today, the 21 May 2016 as a cyclonic storm. High Wave/Ocean State warning for West Bengal, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu West Bengal: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.7 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 2105-2016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the coast of West Bengal between Digha to Bakkhali. Odisha: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.5 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 21-052016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the coast of Odisha between Gopalpur to Chandipur. Andaman: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 4.3 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 21-052016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the west coast of Andaman Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Coco Channel. Nicobar: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.9 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 21-052016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the west coast of Nicobar Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Great Channel.

Andhra Pradesh: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 21-05-2016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the coast of Andhra Pradesh between Dugarajapatnam to Baruva. Tamil Nadu South: High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.4 meters are predicted during 17:30 hours on 21-05-2016 to 23:30 hours of 23-05-2016 along the Kolachal to Kilakarai of Southern Tamil Nadu.

Warnings: Heavy Rainfall Warning: Rainfall is very likely at most places with heavy falls at isolated places over coastal districts of West Bengal during next 6 hours. Wind warning: Wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph is very likely to prevail along & off West Bengal coast during next 6 hours and decrease thereafter. Squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph is very likely to prevail over Mizoram & Tripura and 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over south Assam & Tripura during next 12 hours. Sea condition along & off West Bengal coast: Sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough during next 12 hours.
