We Stand Up. We Think Visibly. We are CW!

Feb. 26, 2016

Dear CW Families, We had a great week at CW! Despite of the snow day, there have been some amazing things happening. You should be so proud of our students that began to participate in the CW Relay for Life! They are really making a difference. Also, one of our classes put together a CW Blood Drive that happened today. I am always inspired when I see young people lead and organize events like this. As always…we were doing a a lot of thinking all week in class. Hopefully you have been able to see your develop into a deeper thinker this year at CW! David

Girls On Track Coaches Desperately Needed!

The Girls on Track after-school program is scheduled to start next Tuesday! Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, our two coaches have had to withdraw from the program. If we cannot find replacement coaches, then we will have to cancel the program for this spring.

The program is designed to engage the girls with lessons that provide tools to help them make positive decisions and to avoid risky behaviors. The core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development – their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being.

Volunteers are needed to coach our girls. The team meets Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 to 5:15 pm from March 1st through May 21st. Coach training is still available and will be provided. Coaching a team is the most rewarding way to get involved with Girls on Track. You get to experience the program first hand, make a difference in the lives of the girls, and have a ton of fun with your team of coaches and incredible girls! And being a Runner is NOT REQUIRED!

Our mission statement says “We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” Please consider volunteering, either to coach or just to be a Practice Partner and help out at the workouts.
