Trying to talk to your kids about school and are not happy with the limited responses? Or are you unsure of what to ask them? Questions to help you draw out more information from your children about school: -

Tell me about a moment today when you felt excited about what you were learning? Were there any moments today when you felt worried? Were there any moments today when you felt good or proud of yourself? Tell me about a conversation you had with a classmate or teacher that you enjoyed. What was challenging about your day? Is there anything you are worried about at school? What are you looking forward to tomorrow at school? Is there a question you wish I would ask you about your day?

Make sure you don't interrupt your little ones, ask for more information ("I would love to hear more"), ask about feelings and validate them, and always thank them for sharing.

NEWS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello Watson Families! January has been a busy month for Watson UNITE. We celebrated our successful fall fundraiser with our Pie in the Face assembly. Some students earned a pizza party, a dance party, an ice cream social or lunch with the Principal. Watson UNITE recognizes that without the dedication and support of our families we could not do all that we do for our students. Thank you for participating and supporting us last September and throughout the year. Bingo night was once again a success! I can't thank enough the volunteer parents that organize and put on this huge event. Special thanks to Liz Nyeste for shouldering this event for as many years as I can remember. Every so often as the board changes over this huge event is put on the chopping block unless a parent steps up to take it on and she did. As her youngest moves up to Pfeiffer next year Bingo night is once again looking for a passionate leader. If it is something you would like to organize, please don't be shy; let us know! Please join us at our February UNITE meeting on the 7th at Noon – we will be addressing the plans for the upcoming officer election, Valentine's parties, Father Daughter Dance and many upcoming Spring plans for our building. Join us for Watson Night Out at BW3 in Massillon February 8 4:00-9:00 P.M. Thank you for being a part of our great Watson Family, Jenn Jones, President
