Wine lovers will find a perfect place to dine at Monvínic (Diputació, 249). With a wine cellar of thousands of wines, it is a wine bar and culinary space and also has a pleasant inner courtyard. Restaurant 3 (Enric Granados, 83) also combines a cocktail bar and gastronomic space, with a delightful terrace with natural light that is perfect for groups. Dining surrounded by plants and savouring striking signature dishes is what can be found at Acontraluz (Milanesat, 19). One final excellent option is a mansion with an inner courtyard in Barcelona’s uptown area: El Trapío (Esperança, 25), serving market cuisine in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. TWO FARMHOUSES IN THE CITY

If you want to know what it was like living in 11th-century Barcelona, Can Cortada (Av. De l’Estatut de Catalunya, s/n) offers a summer dining area in its garden in the setting of an old castle restored as a traditional Catalan farmhouse (known as a ‘masía’), and it even has its own Roman defence tower! The space is considered to be artistic heritage of the city (pictured above). While the restaurant Can Travi Nou (Jorge Manrique, s/n), also housed in a former 17th-century farmhouse, offers Mediterranean market cuisine with garden dining, a privileged setting that will make you feel like you are in the midst of nature despite being in the city (pictured below). Both can be found in the neighbourhood of Horta, at the foot of the Collserola range.
