DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER
This year’s festival boasts our largest programme yet, with movies from regulars such as Ben Wheatley, Jennifer Kroot, and the team of Suki Hawley and Michael Galinsky, who are also festival guests.
So – it’s Rev’s 20th year! How amazing.
There are retrospective sessions focusing on the work of Curt McDowell and experimental women’s cinema, comedies ranging from the dead-pan Neighborhood Food Drive and Wiener-Dog to the bad taste pleasures of Assholes, documentaries on the nature of art, on (inner and outer) space travel, on cinema, on literature, and on four different Australian bands. There are movies about first relationships and worst relationships, demons, aliens, and pets. We have works from acclaimed emerging talents like Ingrid Jungermann and Deb Shoval, and established directors like Amat Escalante and Ulrich Seidl. We’ve partnered with the Irish Film Festival to showcase movies, and with Fremantle Arts Centre to showcase video art. We have free movies for kids. And yes we have James Bond too. Prepare to be shaken and stirred.
Over the years I’ve explained the origins of the event many times but for those interested in seeing the actual
