Dear Members and Supporters With less than a week to go to Xmas, we need to remember that no matter what has happened to us and our loved ones, 2016 is another year, a new one full of possibilities and successes. Too often we have the reality of seeing family members or friends relapse. We have to accept that for many people, their recovery journey is not linear and there will be times when it proves more difficult than others to sustain. For many Xmas is such a time. However, with the appropriate support for all the family, the fear of the difficult times will lessen. Hope is a small word that brings immense possibilities. Recovery is very visible and real in our society as witnessed by the many family members we engage with across Scotland. It can and does happen. Scottish Families will be ‘working’ over the extended break through our Helpline run by dedicated volunteers, so if you are finding this a difficult period, please do get in touch. Our web page offers tips for coping and ways to look after yourself. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and all the team here at Scottish Families, I wish you and yours Peace and much hope for the year to come. Sincerely,

Christine Duncan MSW, CEO
