Qualifications for employment at Watermark include having made a life commitment to Jesus Christ, agreement in writing with the Beliefs and Governance statements of Watermark, and having a work history and a lifestyle that is consistent with scriptural principles in the Bible. Job Title: External Focus Mobilization Assistant Department: External Focus

FLSA status: Non-Exempt Reports to: External Focus Directors

Position summary: Responsible for providing professional administrative support for External Focus Directors, particularly in regards to deploying Watermark members for external service. Potential Spiritual Gifts: • Administration • Shepherding • Serving Role qualifications: • Joy and passion for Jesus Christ • Passion to mobilize church attenders/members to engage our community and world • Strong communication skills • Team player and willing to serve the ministry in any capacity • Successful multi-tasking, highly organized, and good with rapid changes in priorities and direction Position Responsibilities: 1. Mobilization Duties 60-75% will focus on directly supporting the mobilization activities of the External Focus team. This involves inspiring our members to serve externally, inviting them to specific opportunities, and equipping them for impact. In this role, the employee will report to the Director of External Mobilization. • • • • •

Respond to general External Focus inquiries from the body and outsiders Help brainstorm, design, and assist with External Focus initiatives, both large and small Assist with online communication (web site, social media, External Focus blog, etc.) Discuss External Focus principles and methods in-person or via email/phone with Watermark members and other individuals Support mobilization-related events: scheduling, room reservation, setup, managing volunteers, managing staff roles for event, etc.

2. General External Focus Administration 25-40% of the employee’s time will involve administrative support outside of the Mobilization arena. • • • • •

Provide administrative support for other External Focus Directors/Coordinators as needed Maintain and help annually revise External Focus budget Maintain financial payments to partners, including tracking their current usage vs. budget Keep team meeting agendas Schedule meetings for team members

Provide “office management” – ordering supplies, maintaining schedules, etc. Organize External Focus physical supplies (event supplies, donations, books, etc.) and manage systems for distribution/lending Attend all External Focus team and staff-wide activities.

Essential skills and experience: • Experience in administrative tasks • Very effective communication – in-person, online, and via phone – including empathy for how communication might be heard/received by various audiences • Ability to winsomely share ideas, collaborate, and communicate freely with opinionated people • Strong ability to read detailed information and articulate key takeaways, possible errors, and potential points of miscommunication • Proficiency with key computer programs – Word, Excel, etc. – and openness to training on a variety of additional applications • Strong prioritization and organizational skills Beneficial skills and experience include any of the following: • Writing/Editing • Communications/Marketing • Social media • Graphic design • Event planning
