Kitchens for life! A Cork food business is set to expand its workforce and its customers’ food needs. Life Kitchen, the healthy food business produces delicious and nutritionally-balanced meals which are ready to eat. The Little Island based business that currently employs four people has plans to boost employment to 25 over the next two years by preparing and supplying fresh meals that are prepared to meet the health and nutrition needs of consumers aged 50 years and over. The potential of the business has been recognised by the South Cork Local Enterprise Office and Enterprise Ireland who have supplied funding and expertise to get the business off to a good start, and have also chosen Life Kitchen to represent them at the National Ploughing Championships in September. Company founder Dr John Collier said: “I started

the business because as a son and nephew of people who were living on their own, I wanted to provide complete meals for people in their 50s, 60s and older who want to eat a healthy, tasty and nutritionally balanced meal but don’t want to go to the hassle of cooking from scratch for just one person.” The complete meals available from lifekitchen.ie are nutritionally enhanced, meeting the specific needs of the post-war baby boomer generation. The products are sold through a subscription service also via the website where meals are delivered fresh to your home at your convenience, anywhere in Ireland or the UK. The product range includes wellness drinks, soups, main meals and desserts. All the meals contain 30g of protein and are salt and gluten free. Visit lifekitchen.ie for more information.
