The Pink Card is proof of being registered on Bristol’s Register of Disabled Children. The register helps Bristol City Council to understand where disabled children live in Bristol and what their needs are. This helps the Council to make sure they are providing the right services in the right places. The Pink Card can be used through out Bristol as proof of disability. Many different shops and businesses accept the Pink Card. Your rights - The Equalities Act 2010 Business and services must make reasonable adjustments to make sure disabled people can access services and goods like everyone else. A reasonable adjustment is removing or changing something that was stopping a disabled person from having access. This could be how they communicate with you, physical changes like a ramp or reducing waiting times. Businesses and services must make reasonable adjustments if - a disabled person is disadvantaged because of their disability and - it is not too hard or costly for them to make the change (reasonable). Business and services must anticipate reasonable adjustments. This means they are meant to be thinking about make sure disabled people can access their business or service before they arrive.
