FIRE BAN ISSUED FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KING

Effective immediately and until further such time, the Chief Fire Official from the TOWNSHIP OF KING has implemented a Township wide BAN ON ALL OUTDOOR AND OPEN AIR BURNING. This means outdoor burning for any purpose including recreational fires is not permitted. Pursuant to our local municipal By-law NUMBER 2015-109 A BY-LAW TO REGULATE OPEN AIR BURNING THROUGHOUT THE TOWNSHIP OF KING and the Fire Protection and Prevention Act (FPPA 1997), this ban will remain in effect until such time as the ground, weather and atmospheric conditions improve (significant moisture/rainfall). Residents are strongly urged to comply with this ban as it has been issued for the protection of their own property, their own personal safety, and for the safety of our King Township Fire fighters that would have to respond to such an incident (fire(s) started by the unlawful burning of materials). For further information on this ban or for any other fire and life safety information, residents are encouraged to contact King Fire & Emergency Services at the following number between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
