CULTURE! Burlington’s fire stations will be open for public tours to kick off Fire Prevention Week


Saturday, Sept. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. • Take part in family-friendly fire safety activities • Meet your local firefighters and watch live demos • Learn how to prevent fires at your home

Amplify the Culture Session – Kick off event Spencer Smith Park Gazebo Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 • 6 to 8 p.m. Mindfulness event featuring live ambient music with a guided talk to provide a safe space for people to be their authentic selves and unite as community. The event will feature a collaborative art activity asking people to collectively illustrate what culture in Burlington means to them. This specially tuned LIGHT session will be presented by Kune Hua and Brock Hewitt of the AMplify the LIGHT collective.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Burlington Family Photo with Jodi Carr. Be a model or a photographer in this interactive and hands-on experience. Guests are invited to attach their photo to a large framed canvas creating a “Burlington Family Photo”.

• 11 to 11:45 a.m., Burlington New Millennium Orchestra Quintet performance directed by maestro Charles T. Cozens. • Noon to 12:45 p.m., Folk Music by John and Sheila Ludgate. • 12:55 to 1:10 p.m., Poetry Recital by Joan Eddie. • 1:10 to 2:10 p.m., Piano performance by Andrea Battista and students. • 1 to 3 p.m., Water, Sun and Sky by Beth Bennett.
