NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DOMESTIC LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH LEARFIELD LICENSING PARTNERS Indianapolis. Learfield Licensing Partners, a trademark management company specializing in collegiate licensing and branding, is pleased to announce that Northern Michigan University has signed an exclusive agreement allowing Learfield Licensing to represent the university and its domestic licensing program. Northern Michigan University, located in Marquette, Michigan, has an enrollment of more than 8,600 students. The Wildcats compete at the NCAA Division II level as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and at the NCAA Division I level in ice hockey as members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Learfield Licensing has been hired to help maximize exposure opportunities for NMU through aggressive retail merchandising and brand development, along with handling the day-to-day management duties of the university's trademark licensing program. “Northern Michigan University considers a relationship with Learfield Licensing Partners as the next step in growing our brand and presence. Northern Michigan Wildcats everywhere will benefit from Learfield’s involvement. We expect to not only grow the quantity of Wildcat merchandise, but also improve the quality,” said Derek Hall, assistant vice president for marketing and communications. “We are excited to be working with Northern Michigan,” said Bob Bernard, president and CEO of Learfield Licensing. “The Wildcats have great traditions and an engaged fan base, and we look forward to helping NMU expand their product offerings and brand footprint.” Learfield Sports acquired both LRG and SMA in 2014. These two industry-leading agencies now combine their more than 40 years of experience into Learfield Licensing Partners – a world-class licensing firm that integrates each company's services and success to align perfectly with Learfield’s history, strength and reputation within the industry. Learfield Sports manages the multimedia rights for more than 100 collegiate properties and has prominence in all of the major conferences. In addition to the varied offerings of Learfield Licensing Partners, Learfield offers its college partners with professional concessions and ticket sales, digital platform expertise and in-venue signage and technology capabilities through its owned companies.
