Free Summer Meals for Connecticut’s Kids Outreach Blitz Week 2015
As the summer draws near it is time to start thinking about the Summer Meals Programs for children in CT. End Hunger CT! and CT No Kid Hungry Campaign need your help to get the word out.
Please join us at one of our Summer Meals Outreach Blitz Days! What are “Summer Meals”? Funded through the United States Department of Agriculture, Summer Meals are free, nutritious meals and snacks for kids and teens 18 years and younger that are available at more than 500 locations throughout CT during the summer. Summer Meals help keep kids growing healthy and strong, while offering a fun environment for kids to play with friends and enjoy being a kid.
What & Where are Summer Meals Outreach “Blitz Days”? A Summer Meals Outreach Blitz Day is a day when volunteers come together to canvass a community with outreach materials about the free Summer Meals Programs. This year there are six Blitz Days in CT: *New Haven: 6/20/15 from 12:30-4pm; meet at the Goffe Street Park *Thompson/North Grosvenordale: 6/22/15 from 1-4pm; meet at Riverside Park *Stamford: 6/23/15 from 9-12pm; meet at Boys and Girls Club on 347 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford *Windsor 6/24/15 from 12-4pm; meet at the Goslee Park, 685 Windsor Avenue, Windsor *Hartford 6/25/15 from 11:00am -2:00pm; meet at Camp Field Library: 30 Campfield Avenue, Hartford *Plainville 6/26/15 from 12:30-3pm; meet at the Norton Park Bandshell, 100 Norton Park Road, Plainville
