Alabama Archives 2018 STUDENT RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS The Friends of the Alabama Archives is sponsoring two $1,000 Student Research Fellowships in 2018. The fellowships are available to senior-level or graduate students in an Alabama college or university or to Alabama residents in study at a school outside the state. They are intended to help offset expenses incurred while conducting research using the collections of the Alabama Department of Archives and History. A committee of the Friends Board of Directors will review the applications and make awards based on its evaluation of project significance and work plan feasibility. Applications should include the following: ▪ Name ▪ Postal address ▪ Phone number ▪ E-mail address ▪ School ▪ Department ▪ Previous degree if graduate student ▪ Description of research project ▪ Plan of work ▪ Letter of reference from major professor or department head (may be sent separately) Applicants are welcome to submit an additional letter of reference, a résumé, a brief writing sample, or similar materials. Mail applications and letters of reference to: Student Fellowship Committee, Friends of the Alabama Archives C/o Mary Beth Wasden PO Box 300100 Montgomery, AL 36130-0100 Application packets must be postmarked by March 30, 2018.
