To qualify, your school’s Fuel Up to Play 60 team must sell at least 100 packs of Fuel Up Cups and your school must be among the 10 schools that sell the most packs of Fuel Up Cups during the BRAX Fuel Up Cups Fundraiser Contest (November 4, 2015 through April 30, 2016). See Official Rules.

What are Fuel Up Cups? • Fuel Up Cups are a fundraising opportunity for Fuel Up to Play 60 schools to use in earning money to support their nutrition and fitness programs. • Since July 2013, Fuel Up Cups have helped FUTP 60 schools raise over $2.3 million. • Fuel Up Cups are available as a 2-pack of 16-ounce SpiritTravelCups or 4-pack of 18-ounce SpiritCups. • All products feature exclusive 3D designs, are dishwasher safe, BPA-free and made in the USA. How does the program work? • A new online fundraising option is now available for schools and participants to use in selling Fuel Up Cups to friends and family around the country. • FUTP 60 registered schools sign up to run the programs by calling BRAX Fundraising at 888-825-9339. • Schools receive a free BRAXdirect webpage and participants receive individual sales links to distribute to friends and family through email and social media. • Sales are visible in real-time through the website and are attributed to each individual participant and the school. • All Fuel Up Cups ordered online are delivered directly to the support’s doorstep, with the supporter covering shipping and handling costs. How much can a school earn? • Schools earn profits of $6.00 per pack of cups sold online. • With good participation and the support of the whole FUTP 60 team, a school can raise $2,000 in two to three weeks. Is the catalog still available? • The catalog is still available and can be run in conjunction with an online program. • Catalog sales earn profits of $7.25 per pack sold. How long should I run the Fuel Up Cups fundraiser? • Most successful program run 2 - 4 weeks and involve a big announcement, a few reminders and “last chance” messages to potential supporters. • Profits are mailed to the school by the 15th of the month following the conclusion of the fundraiser. Does it cost anything? • There is absolutely no cost to you or your school. • Your FUTP 60 school will receive a free account by signing up with BRAX. • You sell product to supporters through the online e-store where they pay for the products, shipping and handling.

BEST PRACTICES •

Rally a team of participants – the more team members, the more friends and family you can reach to support your fundraiser.

Activate the parent group – Fuel Up Cups are a great standalone fundraiser for FUTP 60 programs but can also raise thousands more if the PTO or PTA are involved. To make it a school-wide program.

Identify the “why” – let supporters know specifically “why” you are raising money. It’s easier for someone to contribute to something when they understand their helping make your school a healthier place.

Run the fundraiser for 2-4 weeks – make a big announcement with frequent reminders and provide a “last chance” to build urgency before the end date.

•

Find a social media guru – recruit them to help promote your fundraiser through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. because the more exposure, the more sales.

Ask for the “share” – if you’re using social media to promote your fundraiser, ask friends and family to share your messages to generate more sales.

Frequent, simple messages generate more sales – expecting friends and family to see your messages the first, second or even the fifth time is a long shot. Mix it up, keep it short, make it interesting and communicate a lot!
