HOW TO GET STARTED 1. SET A TARGET – Set a target and make a plan to achieve it. Your friends and family will want to see you succeed, so keep them updated and don’t be afraid to ask for their help. 2. ONLINE FUNDRAISING – Set up a fundraising page on Virgin Money Giving. Make it eye-catching by using photos, SportsAid’s logo, a passionate personalised message and our SportsAid film. Share updates on the status of your target and once you reach it, increase it!

Thank you for choosing SportsAid and for saying “I Will” to helping the next generation of British athletes. SportsAid supports and recognises young athletes at a vital time in their career — we would not be able to do this without your help.

My SportsAid Award lifts the financial pressure off the shoulders of my parents and I, allowing me to focus on what I do best both on and off the track. It helps to cover the cost of my travel to training sessions and competitions and also allows me to purchase the vital equipment I require to continue performing at the highest level in my sport.

MATCHED FUNDING – Many employers offer matched funding to employees. Make sure to ask as they may be able to help you to reach your target.

3. TELL YOUR STORY – Explain why you are fundraising for SportsAid, how much you want to raise and how people can help you. Tailor your message to your different audiences to make it relevant and to achieve greatest impact.
