Welcome to the 16th Festival of Country Gardens to be held in Spring. We are rather pleased that this regional event is a prime example of Garden Tourism in action and the fact that we have been offering these lovely examples of South West gardens since 1999. We plan to continue opening gardens in the foreseeable future. The Festival with its program containing mud-maps and descriptions of gardens scattered across several towns of the inland South West is in effect creating a series of garden trails where you, the visitor, either from elsewhere or locally, can explore the countryside in your quest to track down the gardens. We try to help with balloons, signs and a wheelbarrow at the garden entrance to give clues to find these gardens and hope that you do not become too lost. The technology is improving and mobile coverage spreading so we include telephone numbers of the garden owners to contact if a few extra clues are needed to find your way. In many cases a cup of tea awaits and a seat on the veranda for the intrepid garden explorer. Enjoy the Festival!
