GEOTAGGING SETUP GUIDE

Hi Virtual Assistant, I would like you to perform Geotagging of photos for me. Please follow the step-by-step procedure below. Here is the information you will need.

STEP 1, 2 Please Follow the Steps Below 1) You will be sent a shared folder on Dropbox.com of photos to geotag using the steps below. Login to your Dropbox.com account and access the shared folder where you will download the picture files to your computer. 2) Go to http://mygeoposition.com/ and enter the address you have been given above (Example: 122 Main Street North, Brampton, Ontario). Input this into the box at the top of the screen, then click on the Calculate geodata button on the top right.

STEP 3, 4 3) Open another browser window and go to http://thexifer.net/. There you will see a box where you can drop the files (photos) you want to upload and tag. Click on the box that says drop files here to upload and a popup window appears where you can then select the local path to the picture files you downloaded from your Dropbox.com account. Please note than you can only do a maximum of 10 photos at a time

4) Select and drop your photos into Exifer, you will see them load into the screen like below. Once they are all loaded, you can click the button “eXif All the images”

STEP 5, 6 5) You will be provided with a screen that shows you the names of the files (photos) you have uploaded, as well as a map and some options. Scroll down and click on the GEO Tags tab

6) When you click the above you will be brought to a screen that will provide you with an area to input the GPSLatitude, and the GPSLongitude, along with the pull down menus for GPSLatitudeRef, and GPSLongitudeRef. You will learn where to get this information in the next steps

STEP 7 7) Open the other browser window and go back to http://mygeoposition.com/, where you have entered the address. There you will obtain the Latitude and the Longitude. From there you will copy the Latitude and take note of the direction (N in the case of our example). You will then go back to the eXifer browser window, paste the Latitude into it, and choose your direction from the drop down box You will then repeat the process with the Longitude.

Next, click the Set Map button (see pink arrow below).

STEP 8, 9 8) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Go.eXifing button

9) If you then scroll back to the top of the screen you will see the message; Your files have been successfully edited and packed into a Zip file. You can now download the zipped file into the DropBox.com folder for the geotagged photos by clicking on the Download Them Zipped button

Repeat this process until all the photos you have been given have been geotagged

STEP 10 10) When the last step has been completed for all photos provided you can then upload the newly Geotagged photos into the sub folder called geo-tagged photos by clicking on the icon noted below and following the prompts
