Starting to set goals for yourself now will help you to do well in school and other activities. By setting and completing goals you will learn that you are capable of whatever you want to do. What do you want to achieve? How will you get there?

Making a daily “to do” list will help you plan and keep track of your short term goals. You can check off what you get done as you go. Whatever you don’t get finished you can add to tomorrow’s “to do” list.
Write a “to do” list for today. What do you need to accomplish today?

Long term goals will take more thinking and planning. It will also take you longer to get results, so have patience and keep moving forward. While thinking about and defining your long term goals you can consider the answers to these questions: • What do I want to do in my life?
• Who can help me?
• What do I like to do?
• How long do I have to do this?
• What dreams do I have?
• What steps need to be taken?
You will need a timeline for your goals to help you finish them in a set amount of time. Write down some time limits with exact details too. Deadlines will help motivate you to keep track of getting things done in a reasonable manner. After thinking about things you want to do in your future use the chart below to write down specific goals with lots of details. This is where you write down the who, what, when, where and why of your goal. Fill in the worksheet by completing every box with as much information as possible.
When you have your goals written out you should then prioritize them according to level of importance. You can simply number them in the order you want to finish them.
