Golden Gravity

Golden Gravity Old moons perceived the pleasing flash; A moment to spur excitement. The stimulus crafts interest, Which promptly reprises on sight. Mutual presence becomes a pearl, Precious and prised at every tick. Every beat is a blessing had, Treasured softly in their instant. Inclined to surge its duration, Extended words and turn of phrase, Converge our agendas further, Compelling welcomed close contact. Nearby, I place myself closer; A display to deter your walk. Home is set by a wall of glass, Facing my back, foiling my gaze. The star shines through, you shine brighter; Golden hair is your gravity, Turning my head locked in orbit, Encouraging a collision. Primarily posed as a spine, This direction presents no eyes. Poised ears trace snippets of your glee, But begs sight be blinded by light. Sporadically you appear, Detected by peripherals. Radiance teasing the corners, Pleading it sails to the centre.

Golden Gravity

A pleasing flash when you focus; Departed melancholia. A brew of excitement simmers, When all features carry detail. Kickstart thrills with a glow of eyes, Terror buzzes as pupils lock, As if awareness would reveal, My wonder at the star’s beauty. The dare performed with every chance, Splendour outweighs the risk of capture. Reflect a rapport to ripen, From mutual fondness of shared flares. Catch her eye and then secure her heart, Venture for fortune made of gold. Daniel Daines

Golden Gravity III Her gravity extends. The earth’s core rotates the moon’s face, So eyes can gaze upon her deep shining waters. They follow her orbit, As she floats gracefully through space, Spinning satellites with her force of attraction. A teasing enticement; It’s enough to secure focus, But distance remains as the earth acts a pivot. She creates a crescent; Shadows spread across the surface, As golden light is hindered by her position. The man in the moon hides, In darkness cast by her bearings, Waiting for trajectory to restore beauty. Sunlight gives her beauty. A full moon glows in her presence, Reflecting the streams of white shores which storm her globe. A sublime cynosure, Flawless from nadir to zenith; She is the paragon planet of perfection. Her celestial body, Cajole eyes of rock to convoy, With every movement made in this infinite space.

Golden Gravity

The cycle is endless, Locked in formation of orbits, Certain to never collide for the rest of time. A lunar lunatic, Maintains this hazy sentiment, That this force will submerge him into her oceans. Feeling tides he inflicts, Upon her fine exterior, Creating waves of a natural sensation. But gravity is fixed, Condemned to constants of balance, The moon is doomed to circle around her splendour. The man does not comply, To the harmony he has tuned, Breaking free from perpetual separation. He takes one giant leap, Into her event horizon, And pursues a path to the surface of the earth. Gravity collapses, In an instance which repels him, Away from the essence already occupied. The people to envy, Swim in those beloved oceans, Whose golden splashes now dim as he floats away.

Golden Gravity

Unobtainable sphere, Shrinking from a clear perception, Only to be admired from an expanding space. Soon it will be a spec, A spectre of a dying flame, Burning phantom lights in the hollows of his mind. And so she fades away, He is saddened but can recall, The intensity of impact her light stroked with. She shines with pure power, A striking trait for a sole world, Inspiring this man to unearth this force elsewhere. Infinity of space, Gives the drifting man hope to find, The epitome he saw in earth’s excellence. Her golden gravity, Is his exemplar for delight; One’s future felicity can be found in flight. A Phase of Fixation ‘A Phase of Fixation’ is my first book and was released in April 2016. It explores the mind of a teen boy who is rooted with misguided obsession and desire. Under the alias of Ragder Siliki, I wrote these poems over the space of a few years. At the time, I believed I was writing love poems, but in retrospect believe they show myself as a boy who could not cope with infatuation. Now available on paperback and as an e-book for Amazon Kindle.

Daniel Daines is a young writer from London, Essex. I began writing poetry in my late teens, originally under the alias of Ragder Siliki, which focused on love and infatuation. These poems eventually came together in April 2016 when I released my first book ‘A Phase of Fixation’. Since then, I have continued to write exploring social commentary and the introspective.
