Feadship Orders for AntiRoll DSM Holland received an order for an AntiRoll system for the 50m Feadship ‘Endless Summer’, which will set sail this summer. Plus, during METS, DMS Holland received an order for Kuriakost, the 33m motor yacht being built by Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw (Feadship). Co-owner and commercial director of DMS Holland Patrick Noor: “These results are of course better than expected… It is clear: the market is open to innovation. It started, incidentally, with the shipyard Wim van der Valk. They were absolutely the ‘innovator’ and catalyst for AntiRoll. Van der Valk is committed to technology and innovation and had confidence in AntiRoll from the very beginning.” i. www.dmsholland.com

A lounger in sleek design with a fresh and trendy look. Chilling out on the water on an equally fine specimen in balmy temperatures. Why not combine both, Mr Blue Sky thought, and this unique concept was named ‘Jackie’, a floating lounger with a matching cocktail table. The Belgium-based company says Jackie is an aesthetically pleasing alternative to the inflatable air mattress. With a matching foot base, Jackie is transformed into a trendy lounger with side table. Mr Blue Sky uses modern and advanced composite materials resistant to sun, salt, chlorine, oil and sunscreen products In order to meet the specific requirements for outdoor furniture. i. www.mrbluesky.com

Hookah Diving Made Easy

Ultra-Slim Glass Helm Applied Marine Automation has unveiled the latest in its range of command consoles, the ultra-slim, floating glass Blade, a modern, minimalist design. Blade provides a video wall view of all the vessel’s systems. A user interface maximises the touchscreen controls so there is no need to navigate dozens of pages. All key systems are available on the one page with pop-ups for alarms and secondary functions. Design Director Gifford Hooper said, “We want to demonstrate how helm design can be ultra-modern and offer the ultimate in convenience for a superyacht captain. The floating concept can be adapted to any boat’s interior design and having all your systems available at a glance significantly improves ease of use for safe pilotage.” i. www.appliedautomation.co.uk

Whether you need to clean the hull, detangle a rope from the propeller or simply want to explore the reef beneath, the PowerDive range of diving systems will be an asset. PowerDive is an advanced manufacturer of Surface Supply Diving Systems formally known as hookah diving. The technology in hookah diving has come a long way from steel helmets and cumbersome dive suits. With the PowerDive system, even first time divers can be underwater in minutes. PowerDive manufactures five models ranging from deck mounted and floating 12V units, through to commercial petrol set-ups. All PowerDive systems use low maintenance oil-less pumps, providing no emissions. Each unit comes complete with commercial grade diver’s hose and high quality regulator mouth pieces. i. www.powerdive.com

100m-plus Custom Projects for Marquip MarQuip has two 100m-plus projects currently underway. The company has devised custom exhaust sytems for two very different projects. Project One will utilise a traditional set up, with each generator equipped with a soot particle filter system and a single outlet up the mast. Project Two is even more customised, with three different outlets to choose from. Both projects demonstrate MarQuip’s versatility. “At MarQuip innovation never stands still,” said Dennis Bravenboer, General Manager Sales. “We ensure we are always ahead of the technology in our industry to make sure our clients are too.” i. www.marquip.nl

OUTFITTERS PAGEs Sealegs Amphibious Kit for Tenders Sealegs has created a turnkey kit to allow tender builders to give their craft amphibious technology. The company presented the kit at METS. It enables European boat manufacturers to create their own amphibious craft and extend their product range without compromising the performance, comfort and character of their own tenders. The new kit caters to boats up to 7m and a 10m kit is in development. The package is bolted on to the tender, and is raised completely clear of the water while the tender is underway. The crew lower it as the vessel approaches land, and a powerful four-wheel drive system drives it over rough terrain to deliver owners and guests to land, without getting their feet wet. i. www.sealegs.com

Stable Wine Cabinet Keeps Things Steady Stable’s Wine Cabinet is just the ticket to make sure your Bordeaux rests in peace while you’re underway. Stable has developed a stabilised platform for wine cabinets to ensure the contents are not spoiled by roll and pitch movements. The standard platform is 73 x 73 x 32cm high. It carries a 60 x 60cm fridge that holds approximately 60 bottles. The stability unit can compensate for +/- 12 degrees of pitch and roll, courtesy of two electrical servomotors. Stable can also deliver a large capacity wine storage platform for around 500 bottles, which is capable of compensating for +/-5 degrees pitch and +/-10 degrees roll. i. www.stable.no

Instersleek Pro a Championship Winner

Foils for Refit at Rybovich

AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings’ Intersleek Pro is a biocide-free, foul-release hull coating for sail or power yachts. It is available in white, blue or black and delivers superior foul-release capabilities for hulls and propellers, while achieving a smooth, glossy finish at the waterline. Intersleek Pro makes it difficult for fouling organisms to tightly adhere to the surface. Additionally it reduces drag, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. Eric Jeuring, co-owner of J24: “The first impression of Intersleek Pro is downright good – the boat is shiny and looks very neat underwater and seems more responsive to small changes in the wind and accelerates smoothly… We are very pleased to report that we have… won the Open Dutch Championship with J24 and Intersleek Pro...” i. www.azkonobel.com

In December Aviva (formerly Aviva III), a 68m motoryacht custom built in 2007 by Abeking & Rasmussen, arrived at Rybovich in Florida for a refit. Wild Group will install marine foils colour matched to Awlgrip battle ship grey by Färben Foils who are currently working with Wild Group to develop tougher and glossier films and foils for the marine market. “I believe the new Färben foils and films offer a superior finish to what’s currently on the market. We are excited to be working on this project and hope it gives confidence to other Captains and owners to come forward and discover the benefits of using Färben products too,” comments Greg Hoar, Director Wild Group. i. www.wildgroupinternational.com

Halyard’s New Heat Shell

FLX: Gleistein’s Long-Life Mooring System Gleistein’s FLX Mooring System boasts exceptionally easy handling due to low weight and requires only the smallest amount of on board real estate despite extraordinary strength. The system comprises an optimal mooring line and matches this with a highly elastic tail acting as the economical sacrificial element. This means mooring line longevity is dramatically increased and the lifetime costs of the system are radically reduced – the life expectancy of the mooring line being generally in excess of most periods of yacht ownership. i. www.gleistein.com

Halyard launched an innovative new thermal insulation product at METS 2014 for OEM’s looking for an efficient and aesthetic solution to prevent heat loss on their marine exhaust systems. Heat Shell is an intuitive product that will remove bulky thermal insulation jackets on their exhaust systems. Instead a glass webbing or ‘Heat Shell’ can be applied to the riser section of the exhaust system, providing an air-tight and liquid proof covering that cannot be damaged by external agents. Assembly time is also reduced considerably, as Halyard apply the Heat Shell at their manufacturing facilities which means there is no longer a need for jackets to be fitted on site. i. www.halyard.eu.com
