ADDITIONAL HELP • All gr. 12 educators are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 14:00 – 14:30. • Additional classes can be arranged, however, they might not be free of charge. • Learners themselves are responsible for arranging for additional help with their educators. • Extra classes are there to focus on a specific problem, not for catching up.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE SPRING SCHOOL

• Takes place during October holidays – presented by Mrs Van Lingen. • Costs amount to R450,00 per learner, four days – includes work book. • Book timeously. • Exclusively for HOK learners.

PERIOD AFTER PREPARATORY EXAMINATION • Compulsory teaching time. • Preparatory examination papers are returned and discussed. • Mistake analyses are done. • Revision. • Final examination tips are given. • It is a grave lie if your child tells you that nothing goes on at school or that the teachers do not work!

WORK AFTER SCHOOL HOURS • Priority to study, not to work after hours. • When working, learner’s priorities change – focus on income, not on studies. • Experience taught that learners are tired, apathetic and homework is neglected. • Working during weekends produce similar results. • Gr. 12 learners sleeping in class miss an enormous amount of important work.

Learning subject; preparation started on day 1. Achievement depends on hard work, self discipline, and motivation. Parents are to assist in motivation. Attaining own objectives: class work, punctual submission of assignments, thorough preparation for tests and examinations. Skills attained facilitate achievement on tersiary level. Mrs Van Dyk is available for individual assistance on every Monday, between 14:00 and 14:30.

QUESTIONS

I thank you.

The task consists of two phases. Phase 1 will be completed during Term 1. Phase 2 will be completed during Term 2. Dates of completion will be provided by the Department.

PAT must be completed during class time under teacher supervision. Sometimes research needs to be completed at home.

Under no circumstances may PAT be completed home. PAT mediation takes place on 19 Feb. The instructions will then be discussed with the learners. ABSENTEEISM must be covered by a medical certificate!

Discuss the question. Provide some background. Give resources as needed. Enough time to complete during double periods.

All information regarding PAT is recorded in the front of the PAT book - Absenties - Behaviour - Number of opportunities - Contacting parents PAT is the key to successful Tourism marks!

INLIGTINGSTEGNOLOGIE RIGLYNE VIR PRAKTIESE ASSESSERINGSTAKE e-pos: [email protected] (012) 5675115
