GRANTS MANAGER Founded in 1999, Cool Culture helps low-income families access and enjoy New York City’s cultural life in order to provide educational experiences for their children. Each year, Cool Culture partners with over 400 of the City’s Child Care, Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten and Title I Schools to give 50,000 underserved families free, unlimited admission to 90 participating museums, botanical gardens and zoos. We help early education programs to meet their goal of supporting families; cultural institutions to reach new and more diverse audiences – and most importantly, we enable children and families to experience and enjoy the rich educational programs available at the city’s cultural institutions. Cool Culture is seeking an experienced and proven Grants Manager who will identify, cultivate and raise funds from foundation, corporation and government sources. The position will involve coordination among development and program staff to gather information into varied proposal formats in a timely fashion to meet application and reporting deadlines. A successful candidate will bring a high level of competency, motivation and ability to learn quickly, and will act under strict deadlines to produce high quality work. The position is full time and reports to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities •

Work in collaboration with Executive Director, and Cool Culture staff to identify organizational fundraising needs, assess assets, and develop a grants strategy to support long-term growth as outlined in strategic plan Draft, edit, research, proofread communications including letters of interest, proposals, and funder reports in a timely manner Work with program and finance staff to collect information prior to submission of proposals, budgets and reports Maintain calendar of grant deadlines and submissions, and track progress towards revenue goals Track current grants to assure compliance with reporting requirements, reporting deadlines, and priority updates Incorporate regular research for ongoing and future funding opportunities into weekly and monthly work plans Update database and tracking systems with pertinent information, correspondence and documents related to funders and prospects. Coordinate site visits with funders and prepare materials for funding meetings Learn and amass knowledge of the early childhood education, family engagement and arts and cultural fields

Minimum 3 – 5 years successful grant writing experience in a nonprofit setting. Knowledge of youth, education and arts preferred Genuine interest in playing a critical role on a small and dynamic team Demonstrated ability to produce successful fundraising outcomes and meet fast-paced timelines Ability to juggle multiple tasks and reprioritize within a rapidly changing environment Self-starter, organized, disciplined and highly detail-oriented Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both individually and as part of a team Excellent oral and written communication skills Commitment to social justice and passion for Cool Culture’s mission Flexible personality with sense of humor strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
