To learn more about the CEA please visit our website located at www.electricity.ca The Position The Graphic Designer plays a key role in a tight knit communications team. Reporting to the Director of Communications, and working closely with the broader CEA team, the Graphic Designer will lead the implementation of CEA’s digital media strategy as well as manage the Association’s multiple social media platforms, quarterly digital campaigns and webinar series as well as its marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate has a passion for producing creative content, both visual and written, and engaging with a wide range of audiences on numerous topics. CEA seeks a self-starter with a keen attention to detail who is able to work independently to deliver a quality product on time and budget.
Key Responsibilities Digital Communications • Maintain CEA’s electricity.ca website, including ongoing content management. • Create banners and graphics to support the website. • Manage mass external member communications (E-Blasts). Create unique E-Blasts for special events and project releases. • Manage analytics and measurement tools for all CEA websites. • Keep up with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and digital media. • Work in a fast-paced environment, and meet multiple deadlines and prioritize activities • Collaborate with team-members, Art Directors, industry-leading creative professionals, and project managers to strategically execute on projects that meet program objectives. Creative • Manage CEA’s brand and brand guideline. Ensure all external and internal products follow the guide. • Manage corporate templates. • Create and publish various media based on the CEA brand guide for use in publications, on the website or on social media feeds. • Create advertisements, brochures and reports, employing knowledge of proper printing methods.

Maintain production files to increase job efficiency and ensure that files and elements are easy to locate. Analyze the effectiveness of campaigns and use this data to inform future campaigns. Coordinate and advise on the layout, design and printing of corporate publications by either creating original content or managing external publishers. Collaborate with team members, the Communications Director and colleagues to strategically execute on projects that meet objectives. Execute original creative work in design, motion and video.

Team player with strong design skill, creative abilities and mindset. Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently, effectively manage time and take initiative. Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving corporate priorities. Comfortable with all Adobe applications as well as a strong knowledge of programming Flexible, open-minded and able to respond to constructive criticism regarding revisions to designs and projects, as necessary. Passionate about interactive and development trends.
Education and Experience •

Five to seven years of experience working in graphic design or multimedia design, including recent experience in content creation, including graphics, info-graphics and videos as well as written content such as blogs, articles, newsletters, proposals and social media posts. Proficiency with the following software applications: • Word, Excel, Outlook • InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro • WordPress • Mailchimp, HTML, CSS • Ability to work in both English and French an asset.
