Last Game: The Stripers defeated the Durham Bulls 8-5 in game three of the series last night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. CF Danny Santana (3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI) and LF Michael Reed (1-for-5, HR, R, RBI) both hit ROAD TRIP (4-2) solo home runs and 3B Rio Ruiz (2-for-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) stroked Batting (24 Runs Scored): a two-run double as Gwinnett built a 5-1 lead midway through the .229 (44-for-192), 9 2B, 0 3B, fifth. Durham responded with three runs off RHP Lucas Sims in 7 HR, 23 RBI, 2 SB the bottom of the fifth to make it a 5-4 game, but Santana blasted Pitching (13 Runs Allowed): 2.02 ERA (11 ER in 49.0 IP), his second homer of the night – a two-run shot off RHP Mike 12 BB, 56 SO, 3 QS, 3 SV Franco in the sixth – to put the Stripers back ahead 7-4. Sims (W, 4-2) exited after 5.2 innings with four runs – three earned – on eight hits. RHP David Peterson (H, 3) yielded a run before stranding the bases loaded in the seventh, and RHP Jason Hursh (H, 2) and RHP Evan Phillips (S, 6) each tossed a scoreless frame. 2B Phil Gosselin (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) added an insurance RBI single for an 8-5 lead in the ninth.
