Tonight’s Game: The Gwinnett Stripers start a six-game road trip tonight with the opener of a three-game series vs. the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Triple-A, Philadelphia Phillies).  IL Standings: The Stripers (47-53) are tied alongside Charlotte (47-53) for third in the International League South Division. Both clubs trail Durham (1st, 56-43) by 9.5 games and Norfolk (2nd, 53-46) by 6.5 games. Gwinnett’s .470 winning percentage is tied for ninth in the 14-team circuit.  All-Time vs. Lehigh Valley: Gwinnett is 30-42 (.417) in 72 prior games vs. Lehigh Valley, winning the season series three times in nine seasons: 2009 (6-2), 2010 (6-2) and 2015 (5-2).

Last Game: The Stripers earned just their second extra-inning win of the season (2-9, .182, 14th in IL) on Sunday, beating the Pawtucket Red Sox 4-3 in 10 innings at Coolray Field. RF Rio Ruiz (1-for-5, RBI) delivered the walk-off LAST HOMESTAND (6-1) winner, singling off LHP Josh D. Smith (L, 5-5) to score C Chris Batting (34 Runs Scored): Stewart (0-for-4, R) from second base with one out. Gwinnett .333 (80-for-240), 17 2B, 3 3B, held a 3-2 lead through six innings, but Pawtucket tied it up in the 3 HR, 33 RBI, 5 SB eighth on Kyle Wren’s inside-the-park solo homer off RHP Miguel Pitching (28 Runs Allowed): 3.38 ERA (24 ER in 64.0 IP), Socolovich (BS, 1). RHP Jacob Webb and RHP Jason Hursh 21 BB, 62 SO, 2 QS, 2 SV (W, 2-4) each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning to hold the 3-3 tie. The Stripers also got RBI hits from SS Luis Marte (3-for-5, RBI), LF Dustin Peterson (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) and DH Alex Jackson (2-for-3, 2 2B, R, RBI) as they swept the home series vs. the PawSox for the second straight season (6-0 since 2017).

Walk It Off: Sunday’s game marked Gwinnett’s second straight walk-off win, the club’s fifth of the season. The Stripers earned three walk-off wins on the last homestand, two on hits from Rio Ruiz (2-run HR in 9th for 4-2 win on 7/18 vs. IND, RBI single in 10th for 4-3 win on 7/22 vs. PAW) and one on a hit from Jonathan Morales (RBI single in 9th for 5-4 win on 7/21 vs. PAW). Gwinnett has won three straight games in the last at-bat, including 7/20 (Alex Jackson 2-run triple in 8th for 7-4 win vs. PAW).
