Wednesday, December 20, 2017 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 I am from Peru. I have been in the United States for almost 21 years. I moved to Palm Beach Gardens 16 years ago. I was completely scared about living in this town. I really did not speak English or have a solid career. My life changed when one of my mentors, and friend, Beets Pando, introduced me to First Presbyterian Church. I was so blessed to meet good friends, who encouraged me not to be scared, and to follow my dreams. 11 years ago, my husband and I joined a study group, and we would share all of our challenges, and encourage each other to be better Christians. It has been my privilege to serve as a Deacon for the past 2 years. This opportunity to serve the Church has allowed me to serve and meet wonderful people. The pastors at First Pres and the teachers of the Front Porch Sunday School class have helped me grow to be a better Christian. If I can do it, everybody can do it, with God, who strengthens us. Dear Father, Often we feel obstacles in our life. Whether it be an inability to speak a language, relate to people, or be anxious about life, You are the one who takes away inability, and gives us ability! Help me to never forget it is You who makes all things possible. Please wash away all my fears! No matter what my circumstances are, help me keep my eyes fixed on You who makes all things possible! We pray this in Christ’s name. Amen!
