Race 1 - 2:05pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER MIDDLE DISTANCE CHASE SERIES FINAL HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 2)

The winner, AMBER GAMBLER (GER), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 26 January 2018 where the gelding finished fifth of eleven, beaten by 30½ lengths. It was

noted that Ian Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form. AMBER GAMBLER (GER) was routine tested. Following the race, Tom Scudamore reported that TWENTY EIGHT GUNS, placed eighth, was never travelling. The Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that the mare lost its left hind shoe. The Veterinary Officer further reported that ALOOMOMO (FR), placed seventh, lost its right fore shoe. Race 2 - 2:40pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER TWO MILE HURDLE SERIES FINAL HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 2)

Permission was given for ZULU OSCAR to wear a hood in the Parade Ring. Race 3 - 3:15pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER STAYING CHASE SERIES FINAL HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 2)

Following the race, Barry Geraghty reported that BEHIND TIME (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, jumped poorly throughout. The gelding was routine tested. Race 4 - 3:50pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER MARES' HURDLE SERIES FINAL HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 2)

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, LAMANVER ODYSSEY, ridden by Noel Fehily, interfered with THE DELRAY MUNKY, placed second, ridden by Mr Bruce Lynn. Being a 7lb claimer, Mr Lynn was accompanied by the trainer. The Stewards considered that the interference had improved LAMANVER ODYSSEY’s placing as at the time of the interference the ground lost by THE DELRAY MUNKY exceeded the official margin of a neck and the mare was gaining on the winner approaching the line and revised the placings as follows: First, THE DELRAY MUNKY, Second, LAMANVER ODYSSEY. Fehily was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as after jumping the final hurdle, he allowed his mount to drift left-handed away from the whip without sufficient correction, causing interference to Mr Lynn. Race 5 - 4:25pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER STAYERS HURDLE SERIES FINAL HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 2)

Rounding the first bend, FINGERONTHESWITCH (IRE), unplaced, edged left-handed in a tightly packed field, shifting CLASSIC BEN (IRE), placed sixth, onto HEAD TO THE STARS, placed second, which caused that gelding to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. Following the race, Harry Skelton reported that RED RISING (IRE), which was pulled up, ran flat and Sam Twiston-Davies reported that AARON LAD (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.

Race 6 - 5:00pm. THE SMARKETS CHALLENGER SERIES MARES' CHASE FINAL HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 2)

THE NIPPER (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start. Following the race, Gavin Sheehan reported that THE NIPPER (IRE), which was pulled up, jumped poorly throughout. The Veterinary Officer reported that SOCKSY (IRE), placed second, lost its right fore shoe. Race 7 - 5:35pm. THE SMARKETS TIM MOLONY HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 3)

Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CLOUDY TOO (IRE), which was pulled up, was suffering from atrial fibrillation and TALK OF THE SOUTH (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its right hind shoe.
