Solihull Chamber is a vibrant membership driven division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and works to connect, support and grow businesses of all sizes and sectors throughout the borough. Working closely with other key local and regional organisations, including Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, the Solihull Business Improvement District (BID), Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP, the Chamber has become an essential and integral part of the local business support infrastructure. An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are now looking to appoint an individual to head up this vibrant division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. Acting as the face and ambassador of Solihull Chamber, you will ensure comprehensive delivery of the membership retention and growth strategy, through effective engagement with the centralised delivery team. You will also play an active role in securing sponsorship, key note speakers and additional revenue opportunities to support the events programme. Key to your role will be your ability to establish, develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and business leaders, as well as cross sector businesses including the Solihull Chamber Executive Committee and Patrons. You will also play an active role in shaping the new Local Enterprise Partnership agenda for the area and supporting key local and regional initiatives such as skills. Applicants should possess previous experience within a commercially focussed business to business environment together with an awareness of the current and evolving business issues, needs and challenges of local business including SME’s and Blue Chip clients. A flexible and adaptable attitude and ability to react to an ever challenging and changing business environment is essential.
