Highlights

The Allegrini family has started its wine business since the 16th century. Allegrini is reputed to produce quality Valpolicella Classico using the grapes grown locally. It has been designated a “Star” winery by Gambero Rosso, Italy’s most important wine publication. This rare honor is given to a select few of Italy's top producers and recognizes them for consistently producing outstanding wines across many vintages.

ASPI Winery & Vineyards from Azerbaijan is joining the Wine Fair the first time, and will showcase their local wines. Historians say wine-making in Azerbaijan dates back to 2000B.C. Azerbaijani wines produced back then were thick and sweet as honey. People had to dilute it before drinking. ASPI Winery & Vineyards blend traditional wine making techniques with modern technology and vines imported from Europe to produce distinctive and delightful wines. Abrau-Durso Winery is the oldest sparkling wine producer in Russia. The winery was developed in 1870 by the decree of Emperor Alexander II and specialised in making sparkling wine. The wine was later used to serve the Russian Imperial Court in the 19th century. In 1896, Prince Lev Golitsyn, the godfather of modern Russian winemaking, came in with French specialists to make sparkling wines according to the classic méthode champenoise. Some of the classic wines are aged at least three years.

Château Pape Clement is the oldest wine estate in Bordeaux. Its wine is rated by Robert Parker as one of the greatest in Bordeaux. It was presented to Pope John Paul II and served in the dinner hosted by former French president Jacques René Chirac and President Vladimir Putin of Russia in 2003. Château Pape Clement belongs to Wine Tycoon Bernard Magrez who is one of the most significant figures in the wine industry and regarded as the pioneer in Bordeaux wine industry by Decanter magazine. His wine empire covers Argentina , Chile, Japan, Morocco, Spain, Portugal and Uruguay and California in the US with over 40 wine estates.

XLV is an exclusive private label created by Xavier-Louis Vuitton, eldest member the fifth generation of the Vuitton Dynasty. Some of XLV finest wines are produced in Pauillac, arguably Bordeaux’s most prestigious wine producing region in Gironde Estuary. Georgian Valleys Corporation Ltd showcases Jani Red Wine which demonstrates Georgians’ bold personality. Jani Red Wine has a horn-shape ceramic bottle, as Georgians toast with real bull horns filled with wine during celebrations such as weddings and New Year. They finish the wine in it before setting the horn down. Jani’s bottle is specially designed with a small horn-shape cup at the top which shows a unique Georgian style and make sure a cup is always ready for “cheers”!

Merit Wine Boutique presents the world’s largest bottle of Armand De Brignac Champagn. It weighs 45kg and its volume is equivalent to 40 regular-size (750ml) champagn bottles. The Cattier family, which owns Armand De Brignac, has been producing champagn since 1763. The champagn has earned international acclaim from the world’s top wine critics; in Parker’s Guide of Fine Wines, it is rated “excellent”.

Australia’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines can be found at Brothers in Arms Vineyards in Langhorne Creek. The vineyards date back to 1891 when two acres of Cabernet Sauvignon were first planted. Today, the vineyards have grown to 300 acres. These original vines continue to thrive and yield wines inspired by history.

Chapel Down vineyard from the UK presents Curious Brew, gold medal winner in Lager category of the International Beer Challenge 2012. Curious Brew takes classic wine-making technique of longer maturation. The lager is also re-fermented with Champagne yeast. Brandy made in Hong Kong is so rare, but Hong Kong exhibitor Portrait Winery Co. Ltd has made Hong Kong proud with its production of award-winning brandy. Poire Royal Brandy which won a silver medal at the China Wine Awards – Spirits category is made of cold-fermenting the rarest aromatic Oregon Bartlett pears; the intense flavours and fragrance is extracted by applying the traditional techniques used in the 18th century Europe. It is then slowly distilled twice before aging in barrels.

In dedication to the 20th century, Georgian exhibitor, JSC Sarajishvili produced a special edition of brandy – a “liquid time capsule” blending spirits from, among 17 years in the last century, as old as 1893 and 1905. The 120-year old brandy was created in celebration of the company’s 155th anniversary and only 155 bottles were produced. The precious brandy costs six figures per bottle.
