HOMELESS ALLIANCE Job Description Job Title: Vendor Coordinator Department: The Curbside Chronicle Reports to: Executive Editor Date: Job Code: Type of position: FLSA: Position Details: Full-time □ Part-time Exempt Individual Contributor WC Code: □ Intern Nonexempt Supervisor/Manager (direct reports) JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for case management and social services for vendors of the Curbside Chronicle program. This position assists homeless and at-risk vendors of the Curbside Chronicle with goal setting, life-skills development, and personal growth. This position is in charge of the training and management of vendors at the Curbside Chronicle. This position works with city government, law enforcement, local businesses, and other social service agencies to advocate for vendors. RESPONSIBILITIES  Recruits, trains, and manages vendors who are homeless and at-risk to sell the Curbside Chronicle magazine. .  Facilitates monthly vendor meetings, weekly vendor trainings, and special vendor activities.  Handles any disputes or problems amongst vendors.  Educates vendors about the legalities of magazine distribution around Oklahoma City, including handling any legal disputes with law enforcement in regards to magazine distribution.  Assists vendors in reaching their maximum vending potential, including help finding vending locations and proper vending etiquette.  Assists vendors with personal goal setting and breaking down personal barriers to employment and housing.  Works with vendors on building basic job skills and assists vendors in their pursuit of further employment opportunities, including assistance with resumes, job applications, interviews, and references.  Assists vendors transitioning into housing, including help applying for housing programs, finding affordable housing, completing lease agreements, and creating a housing sustainability plan.  Assists vendors in accessing supportive social services as needed.  Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationship with community resources. Networks with community organizations and agencies, civic groups, churches, and the general public to support vendors of the Curbside Chronicle.  Maintains good working relationships with local businesses, law enforcement, other social service agencies, and Curbside partner organizations. Attends and participates in appropriate coalition and community resource meetings.  Tracks and maintains precise and accurate vendor information and outcomes.  Provides a monthly vendor report.  Observes vendors’ rights to privacy and confidentiality at all times.  Transports vendors as needed.  Performs other related duties as required. REQUIREMENTS  Dedicated to end homelessness in Oklahoma City with a sense of urgency.  Strong writing, reading, listening and speaking communications skills; Bilingual a plus.  Ability to work independently and self-manage to achieve goals while being a strong team player.  Able to set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients.  Possess well-developed, decision-making skills, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.  Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to excel in a diverse, collaborative team environment.  Possess a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential Homeless Alliance, client, donor, and employee information and situations.  Able to multi-task and remain calm in demanding and unpredictable situations.  Able to understand various Homeless Alliance operations and procedures.  Able to maintain a professional, customer service-oriented attitude at all times; demonstrated dispute resolution skills.  Able to meet face-to-face with homeless individuals of diverse backgrounds and disabilities, including physical, mental, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, etc.; able to develop rapport, provide information, and refer with sensitivity to cultural issues.  Able to work and communicate with staff, clients and their families, donors, vendors, community agencies, etc.

HOMELESS ALLIANCE Job Description to meet their needs in a polite, courteous and cooperative manner, yet appropriately assertive as situation may demand.  High level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.  Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.  Possess or have access to a vehicle to travel to various sites and locations daily; ability to transport individuals as needed. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE  Undergraduate degree in social work, behavioral science, or related field preferred.  Two - three years of previous experience in adult case management preferred.  Computer literate; experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, Internet. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS  

Valid Oklahoma driver’s license & Proof of Insurance ODMHSAS Case Management Certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly requi red to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time in an office environment and must be able to lift/move wei ght up to 25 lbs. Employee is also requi red to accept incoming calls and mus t be able to hear and speak. Must have visual acuity to read and draft reports, memos, letters, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently. Must have the manual dexterity to manually operate and us e a computer. Incumbent must be able to drive in all weather and road conditions; may occasionally need to transport tenant clients. The noise level is quiet to moderate; non-smoking environment. Work Environment The employee will work in an office and public, service-delivery environment. Hectic situations can occur in the public areas of the facility characteristic to working with the homeless community and the rel ated concerns and situations related to homeless conditions. Potential exists for volatile and unpredictable situations to occur. May experience exposure to strong odors such as soiled clothes and poor hygiene.
