Job Description The Don Hotel is fast becoming a leading luxury Hotel in Bondo, Siaya county operating under the slogan; Hospitality second to none. We believe in providing our guest with an incomparable service and therefore we are currently looking for an experienced, energetic and dynamic candidate for this role. We’re looking for a friendly individual who genuinely enjoys being around people, who can manage multiple tasks at once and wants to provide great hospitality to our guests by contributing to them having a happy stay with us. The ideal candidate will have previous customer service experience and will understand the importance of responding quickly to guests’ needs and complaints. You’ll be corresponding with guests through email, over the phone and in person. The Receptionist shall also be an brand ambassador for the hotel. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • • •

Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay at the Front Desk and other public areas. Responsible for managing guest's reservations using an online reservation system to facilitate guest registration and room allocation. Receives guest payments at the point of check in and during the pre-booking phase while adhering to prescribed credit card verification and cash handling policies and procedures. Generates daily, weekly and monthly sales reports Communicates with and coordinates different departments on various guest requirements. Works closely with the housekeeping department in generating and maintaining room status reports. Generates requests and reports for room maintenance. Maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in liaison with other department heads. Effectively communicates rates, promotions and offers to prospective clients using suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel. Performs cashiering tasks like bill/invoice settlement and posting charges to the guest accounts. Provides adequate information to guests on room features, services and amenities during the check-in process. Uses prescribed telephone etiquette while communicating with hotel guests, suppliers and partners. Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager. Knowledge of basic safety and emergency procedures and conversant with accident prevention policies.

Qualifications for the Receptionist • • • • • • • • •

Hotel related diploma, specifically for Front Desk Services or a diploma in Business Management Must have at least 2 years minimum experience working in a hotel, preferably as a receptionist Language: Proficient in spoken and written English & Swahili. Knowledge of third language (French, Italian, Spanish, German) is an added advantage. Excellent Communication skills Good Customer service skills Good interpersonal skills. Must be orderly. Ability to multi-task. Good crisis management skills
