How to Apply High school students in 10th and 11th grades who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale are
eligible to apply for the Governor's School for Prospective Teachers, and if selected, will participate in the program during their junior or senior y ear.
Interested students should obtain and complete an application from their school counselor. T hen, high school
counselors or principals will nominate students by submitting applications of students who have applied to the Governor's School review/selection committee, which will select the students who will be invited to attend the
program. Applications submitted directly by students will not be accepted.
Accepted students will receive a FULL scholarship for program expenses, including dorms, tuition, meals, special
trips, lectures, and labs. Students will pay for transportation to and from the campus and will need personal spending money.
Applications for the 2018 Tennessee Governor's Schools will be available online from Sept. 1st to Dec. 1st, 2017,
