How to download files from your OneDrive account to your computer

All students have access to their Middlesex University OneDrive account for up to one year after they graduate. After that period, your Middlesex OneDrive account will be deactivated (along with your Middlesex email account). If you have previously used your OneDrive account to store documents online, you will need to manually download all documents one by one, and save them to your personal home computer or laptop, before your OneDrive account gets deactivated. To start downloading, you will need to log in to your Middlesex University email account to access your stored documents on OneDrive. 1. Type in www.outlook.com/live.mdx.ac.uk into the address bar, and press enter—you will be taken to the Middlesex University email sign-in page. Please sign in here using your Middlesex University email address and password. 2. Once you’re logged in, click on the grid icon in the top-left corner, and then select OneDrive:

You will then be taken to the OneDrive home screen, where you will see a list of all the documents you have uploaded onto OneDrive:

3. To start saving the documents to your computer, right-click on any of the documents saved on OneDrive, and then click on the Download option.

4. A window will then pop up, asking if you want to open or save the file. Select the Save File option, and click on OK—you should then be given the option to choose where to save the file on your computer (the default location is in your Downloads folder).

5. You will now need to repeat steps 3 and 4 for all documents stored on your OneDrive account. Please make sure all files have been saved on your computer. As an optional step, you can then create another free personal OneDrive account (by signing up at onedrive.live.com) and then uploading all of your saved documents there.
