Prophecy May 7: Isaiah 53 – Prophecy Conversation Starter: What is a prophet and who is this prophecy about? • Someone who has the gift of prophecy has the ability to tell the truth in a way that is on the edge while convicting people to change. These people tell the truth when the truth isn’t popular and they have the ability to see where things are headed. In the OT, the prophets were able to predict the coming Messiah through revelation from God. The prophet Isaiah was prophesying about Jesus in Isaiah 53. • Who are Jesus’ many descendants that Isaiah refers to in Isaiah 53:10 just after he said that he would not have any descendants in verse 8? • What do you need to do to be adopted into the family of God or if you’ve already been adopted, continue to honor your father as you move through life? May 14: Daniel – The Story of Daniel Conversation Starter: What stands out to you most about Daniel? • Daniel had great opportunity to display faith but in the midst of those opportunities, he had equal opportunity to fall short and bend his will and desire to the authorities of the world. Daniel was a devout man of God who would not compromise his beliefs for anything, no matter how much pressure he was under. • What are some things about Daniel that you need to implement in your life to show your honor and devotion to the Lord? • Are there any situations in your life that are similar to what Daniel faced? How can you use these situations to bring glory to God?

How is Jesus the thread in your story and what will you do to be a part of the story? May 28: Luke 2 – Jesus is Born Conversation Starter: This is the classic Christmas story. We all tend to gloss over it because we’ve read it so many times. Slow down, pay attention to things that you may have never noticed before. • At this point, we’ve all been waiting for this moment. All of the teaching since January has pointed to the birth of Jesus, the savior of the world. Why do you think God allowed His son to be born in the setting of an animal trough? • The wise men came a long way to worship Jesus as King because they knew that Jesus was the Messiah. What can you do this week and going forward to offer worship like the wise men did?
