We are the leading social investment intermediary and a centre of innovation in addressing social issues in the UK and beyond. Social Finance has grown from 2 to 65 people over the past 8 years. Our teams work with Central Government departments, Local Authorities, Global Development Organisations, Charities, Social Enterprises, Foundations and Investors. Social Finance brings together deep understanding of a range of complex social issues with financial and analytical rigour to develop sustainable funding models which drive social change. Some of the areas we have worked in include financial inclusion, affordable housing, recidivism, homelessness, domestic abuse, loneliness and children in or at risk of entering care. Our work in international development has included neglected tropical diseases, HIV, education and employment. About the job We are seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager from banking, finance, consulting or the third sector ideally with a CIPD qualification. The role will be flexible and could be considered on a part time basis. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Operating Committee, the HR Manager typically provides day-to-day management of HR related work streams, with strategic support from a Director. The HR Manager is responsible for: · · ·

Leading and directing the human resource team to deliver a focused HR service across Social Finance. Working with business Directors and teams to deliver and implement targeted talent management, learning and development strategies. Overseeing the recruitment, retention and management of employees and liaising with Directors to ensure teams are appropriately staffed & processes are well managed.

Overseeing graduate programmes and internships. Being responsible for supporting the COO and leading on Employee relations across the organisation. Leading the rollout of the bi-annual performance development process and ensuring employee compliance. Producing and reporting Management Information. Keeping abreast of developments in the profession, organisation & UK and European employment law. Informing and leading on key HR policy & procedures and providing an operational perspective to policies developed within the team. Line management responsibility: HR Team & Central functions.

Ability to represent the HR function as part of the bigger business picture. Confidence to lead HR & advise managers on all aspects of people management. Strategic agility: ability to see ahead, with relevant knowledge, can articulate credible vision and possibilities, with the ability to craft business & people solutions. Proven ability in providing proactive, professional HR advice to all levels of management, across the full range of sometimes complex operational issues, including recruitment, performance management, conduct & sickness issues, strong understanding of employment law & best practice. Ability to ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment law. Experience of dealing with people at all levels, with the ability to build a rapport with key members of the senior team. Effective listening skills and the ability to be able to ask the right questions, with sensitivity and empathy. Proven project management track record and risk escalation., particularly managing multiple processes at any one time Experience managing and motivating teams. Effective influencing, organisational skills. Previous experience of implementing computerised HR systems.
