Thinking back, we had great family times traveling the country during our summer vacations over a four to six-year period starting in 1969. Our FMCA number

was F3535 and we did all the big rallies when they were within reasonable reach to the Chicago area where we live. I remember you could sign up for the factory authorized techs to fix your motorhome generator or refrigerator for free! Oh, how times have changed! It was the ‘70s and interstates had just about been completed. These new roads made it possible to travel long distances and put some mileage down every day to see America and the beauty this country offers.  While traveling, the kids had chores, so every night we stopped because we were expected to pitch in and help! I was head of maintenance and repairs and my daily job on the road was sewer and water connections. My brother got the electric hooked up and my dad had

Campground in Northern AZ. Mom and the four of us, I am in the shorts.
