ARLINGTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB TITLE: Technology Support Specialist WAGE/HOUR: Hourly REPORTS TO: Director of Technology Support PAY GRADE: T2 DEPARTMENT: Technology Support DAYS: 243 ROLE AND PURPOSE: Software and Hardware support for all technology systems not including the network itself. Provides training and support for Building Technology Contacts to insure maximum availability of all technology equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: ● Bachelors Degree preferred; appropriate work experience may substitute ● Computer/ Technology related degree or certification preferred. ● A+ Certification ● Valid Texas Driver’s License Experience: ● Prefer three years in a position requiring the use of the special knowledge and skills listed above. ● VMWare, Apple, Dell, HP, Lexmark, Microsoft Active Directory, and MDM preferred. ● Job does involve some lifting and movement of computer hardware. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT A. None II. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE A. Strive to make working environment friendly and cooperative. B. Places great amount of priority in responding to fellow department personnel as well as district staff in a friendly and patient manner. C. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills D. Assist in the timely dispatch of appropriate Technology staff following documented procedures. E. Visit district sites to provide building technology personnel with support and training. III. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. Coordinate with peers to determine the most effective means to accomplish tasks. B. Continually look for ways to improve overall response and efficiency of processes in resolving technology related problems Districtwide. C. Track service requests within the database for problem tickets, trends, and anomalies that may indict areas of concern. D. Effectively and efficiently utilize District technology resources in order to install, configure, diagnose and repair all supported hardware and software. IV. ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT A. Document materials, resources, tasks, sequencing, and task completion to the Help Desk B. Assist all District functions, as needed, that require use of Technology. C. Responsible for maintaining accurate records and inventory of all Technology resources as defined by the Technology Department. D. Act as liaison for District with vendors employed for contracted services for equipment repair. V. STUDENT MANAGEMENT A. None VI. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS A. Assist management in responding to community concerns or questions related to district technology systems

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT A. Seek and accept comments from administrators, department heads and other school personnel to improve services provided. B. Constantly learning and training on the latest trends in district technology in order to achieve success. C. Attend training for job responsibilities and continue to learn as technologies change in the District.
