POSITION INFORMATION

Vacancy Announcement: UNEP/ROLAC – Brazil Office Job Title: Editorial Designer Supervisor: Programme Officer Type of Contract: Consultant Duration: January (immediately) – March 2016 (3 months) Closing date for application: 26 January 2016

II.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The aim of this process is to hire a consultant to adapt the layout of UNEP’s brochures, infographics, or publications that were translated from English to Portuguese. The original publications in English will be provided in an open format to the hired consultant. All the services to be rendered under the present Terms of Reference will have direct impact on the development and implementation of UNEP’s projects. Payment will be fulfilled based on the quantity of pages adapted. III.

FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED

Under overall guidance of UNEP’s Team, the translator will: 

Graphic design (covers, page layout, chapter headings, index) of UNEP’s publications that were translated from English adapted in their Portuguese version.



Unlimited design changes until the final approval by UNEP



Digital files in high resolution and closed for printing;



Digital files in PDF for Web use;



Digital files open in Corel Draw, In Design or Illustrator format.

IV.

REMUNERATION

The service will be paid to the Consultant in 1 (one) installment after each output delivery. The total amount of pages adapted must be informed by the consultant. The remuneration shall not change during the contract. Applicants must indicate the remuneration expectation (price per page adapted).

The service will be paid to the Consultant in 1 (one) installment after the delivery of all outputs. VI.

REPORTING LINES

The recruited consultant will perform his or her duties and responsibilities under the supervision of the Programme Officer.

The key results have an impact in all activities of UNEP ROLAC Brazil Office and its projects, under themes such as Sustainable Consumption and Production. IX.

Ability to provide effective support in relation to work conducted by colleagues. RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

University Degree in any field;

Experience:    

Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience in graphic design and layout. Command of digital graphic design and artwork tools. Capacity to deliver the expected results under pressure and in a short notice period. Previous experience at the UN System is an asset;
