Modules overview

Module 1 a - What is the Internationalization Process? Motives and Benefits for CCIs The key objective of the training module is to qualify participants to manage processes and tasks of internationalisation in the area of the Creative and Cultural Industries. The programme will enable the participants to build up improved and more effective structures of internationalisation process of the creative industries, analysing with particular attention tools to be used and how to build an international network of potential strategic partners to support their process. MODULE 1 b – IPR and intellectual assets Here we will deal with one of the most important aspects of internationalization, namely intellectual property and intellectual assets. These might seem as distant, abstract things, but as an artist, you produce a lot of them maybe without knowing! We will give a brief introduction of different types of intellectual properties and how to exploit them. Then we will move on to the specifics and details of the peculiarities of the internationalization of cultural and creative industries: what is different, and we will talk shortly about do's and don'ts of internationalization. In the end, we will speak about the benefits and risks of internationalization which could help you ultimately decide to go international or put some more work instead in your business to be sure. Module 2 - Trigger of export initiation in CCIs; internationalization barriers, risks and timing Internationalization works with everything, starting from small bakery ending with creative handmade invitations. During the training, you will learn what are the external and internal factors of Internationalization connected with cultural and creative industry. We will discuss when, why and where is the potential for Internationalization. Problems or challenges? Risk, failure or great lesson? Tips in order to succeed connected with activity and teamwork. Module 3 - Market Selection and International Market Entry Mode for CCIs The module will explain how to use systematic research to reach the decision of choosing a market for export. In the second part different possible entry mode will be discussed. The module is very practical with several exercised and discussions as well as different examples from the CCI. Module 4 - Global Marketing for CCIs The module about global marketing introduces the main strategic and operational marketing questions with a global perspective and an application to the specific situation, that applies for artists or creative entrepreneurs, located in the different sectors of the Cultural and Creative Industries. Module 5 – The internationalisation canvas This module aims at supporting and coaching learners to develop an entrepreneurial approach enabling them to visualise, plan, develop and review their sustainable creative and art projects with an international prospective.

The contents and the activities planned will introduce and help learners to understand and identify the essential elements of the “Creative Project Canvas”, which is the Business Model Canvas specifically adapted to help artists and creatives develop their entrepreneurial skills and abilities. The learners will be actively involved to gain an interactive insight on the key component parts of the “International Creative Project Canvas”, which will provide them with a visual and practical tool to plan, monitor and review the internationalisation process of their creative and art business. Module 6 - Competitive advantages for CCIs of going international Providing CCI organisations with knowledge and understanding on what provides business with a Competitive Advantage (CA), the strategies to create sustainable CA, and to review business’s current products and services that can provide a CA when ‘going international’. Module 7 - Specific cases: most popular international CCIs During this module, we will debate on the internationalization aspects of CCI's: the theoretical models, the practical questions, the "whys", the "whens" and the "hows" of internationalization. Also, we will present a series of case studies of successful internationalization of cultural and creative industry enterprises. Each participant will make a short presentation of their own activity and present to the colleagues a best practice of internationalization from their sector of activity (“where I am now- and where I want to be” – type of exercise) MODULE 8 - The specific role of intermediaries to support CCIs to internationalize This module is all about intermediaries trying to help along the way of internationalization. KIKK Association as the management body of Creative Industry Cluster will of course let you know, how a cluster can assist in the process of internationalisation but we will talk about other advantages of being a cluster member too. Enterprise Europe Network is also a very important and useful place to ask around which we will talk about and last but not least Competence Centres will be addressed, too. Creative Matchmaking In this document you have a short profile of all the participants of the training week and the trainers. You might want to know a little more some of them or talk with them about a project you are running that could become international with a co-production/joint development. During Creative Matchmaking session you can “book” an appointment with any of the other participants, just let us know and we will organize it for you.
