BRIEF INTRODUCTION: MUST, leading university in ICT in education, has decided to organize national and international conferences once within two years. It is organizing the first conference in cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies and inviting international experts, all level educational organizations, and administrative staff. The UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies, one of the organizers of this conference, is cooperating with us in the framework of its activities to provide member countries with policy advices, evaluate policy documents, conduct analyses on ICT in education, and spread new and fruitful methods and experience to the public as a specialized organization. CONFERENCE PURPOSE: This conference focuses on developing the exchanges of international and national initiatives and experience on ICT in education, spreading information, making advices for academic and administrative staff in education, and supporting the initiatives on those issues. “ICT-EDU 2014” CONFERENCE AREAS: “Effective Ways of ICT Development in Higher Education” This session will discuss ICT development in universities during higher education reforms especially the development of educational information management system, ICT use in improving university quality, and etc on the basis of experience and initiatives of international and national universities.

“Educational New Didactic Methods and Innovations in Schools” This session will summarize the situation of secondary schools where ICT is limited with computer classes, discuss open educational sources, didactic methods, methodology new trends and international experience with international experts, and exchange comments on the experience of creative schools and teachers. “Mobile Learning and Open Educational Materials” This session will discuss the international researches and experience of mobile learning and open educational sources, feasibilities to introduce their findings into Mongolia, and analyze their effects. EXPECTING RESULTS: We expect to make a guideline (conference proceeding) on the following issues as a result of the conference: - Developing ICT new trends in education - Improving ICT skills of teachers - Spreading and supporting the use of open educational sources - Working out open educational materials Objective Result: - ICT development in Mongolian education Date and Venue: The conference will be held at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology on May 06-07, 2014 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Attendees: Teachers, educational administrative staff, scholars, and private sector delegates will participate in this conference.
