ICT Quiz Prelims Online Test on th 29 Sep 2016 between 11.00 a.m. to 11.40 a.m. Access Credentials, Guidelines & Instructions About the Prelims Online Test The Prelims Online Test will be held through a portal set up and supported by Infocareerindia. The online test is browser based. It can be taken either on desktops / notebooks / handheld devices (but not recommended as notifications / promotional messages may interrupt and abruptly close the test) The online test will have 100 questions. The format of the questions will be multiple choice, true / false, fill in the blanks and finding the odd man etc. There is no specific syllabus for the prelims. The questions will be covering history, fundamentals, current trends in information and communication technologies (ICT). If you are following the developments in ICT area through magazines and newspapers you will find the prelims quite easy. , The duration of the online test is 30 minutes. The questions will have to be answered sequentially. As soon as 30 minutes are over from the time you start answering the test, the test window will get closed and you will be automatically logged out. Hence, try to answer maximum no. of questions without losing time. All participants will access the portal through the userID & password provided. The portal will be kept open for 40 minutes. In those 40 minutes, the online test of duration 30 minutes will have to be completed. Hence one should not delay to login and start answering the test as soon as the portal is opened as you have just 30 minutes to answer 100 questions. Access Credentials Portal address: http://ieee.myqhub.com/ Login UserID: Your email id (as given in the google form while registering) Login Password: ictquiz Date of the test: Thursday, 29th Sep 2016 Time of the test: Between 11.00 a.m. to 11.40 a.m. (The test window will be open only for 30 minutes. As the test duration is 30 minutes, pl. login as soon as possible. Late loggers will lose disadvantaged to the extent of their delay. For example, if you login at 11.20, you will get just 20 minutes for the test. Those log before 11.10 will get full 30 minutes for the test)

Test Guidelines The portal will open for login at 11.00 a.m. on 29th Sep 2016. It will be accessible only for 40 minutes (up to 11.40 a.m.) Pl. login to the portal with your user ID (Your email id (as given in the google form while registering) and the password as: ictquiz If the userID and password is correctly entered, the login will be successful and the following screen will appear.

Click on the button “Take Exam” at the bottom The test will start with a message box. Just acknowledge the message and proceed with the test. The questions will start appearing one by one in a random order. Answers the questions (either by selecting the correct answer / entering the answer) Click on the “>” arrow button at the bottom to go to the next question. Continue to the test till all (100) questions are displayed. On the top of the test window, you will find the following info: Question No. , Time Allotted, Time Available, Questions Answered. Please note that you will not be able to go back. Only going forward is allowed. This means, if you do not answer a question, it is as good as you are skipping the question. (It is a trade-off between time and trying to answer correctly) As soon as the 100th question is answered, you will get a message that “no next question”. Just acknowledge the message.

On the top of the test window, you will find the “Submit the test” button. Click on this to submit your test and exit. While the above is the normal condition, few exceptions are possible as given below: 

If the time taken by you to answer the questions exceeds 30 minutes, the test will be automatically submitted. This is a forced exit. All questions answered till that point will be taken into consideration.



If you move out of the test window (including tool bar, new tab, etc..,) or if the notifications / promotional messages appear on the screen, test will get automatically submitted immediately and you will not able to continue with the test. All questions answered till that point will be taken into consideration.



If the portal open window of 40 minutes gets over, the test will be automatically submitted. This is a forced exit. All questions answered till that point will be taken into consideration.

System related Guidelines 

The test can be taken on a desktop /laptop / tablet / handheld device (but not recommended as notifications / promotional messages may interrupt and abruptly close the test)



Use browser Chrome version 30 and above or Firefox version 40 and above or Internet Explorer version 9 and above.



Disable interactive plugins which have been included in the browser.



Please ensure that the Browser and other system required process must run on the machine's background.



Please ensure you have good network connectivity and make sure that the system never gets disconnected from the Internet.



Disable all software update notifications like antivirus or window and all promotional messages(this includes both browser and system notifications). If it happens, the exam/test will get automatically submitted immediately and you will not able to continue with the exam/test.



Avoid moving out of the exam/test window (including tool bar, new tab, etc..,). If you move out of the exam/test window, the exam/test will get automatically submitted immediately and you will not able to continue with the exam/test.

Announcement of Results Once the test is submitted, your performance in the test will get included in our test database. For every correct answer, one point will be given. There are no negative points for wrong answers. The points/score obtained by the individual participant of a team will get added up to arrive at the Team’s Total Points / Scores (max possible is 200) The teams will be ranked in the order of “opted/allotted quiz center” & “total points/score” The top six will be shortlisted for each opted/allotted quiz center for participating in the Regional Orals. The list of teams shortlisted for taking the Regional Orals will be published at the website at http://goo.gl/fhCeD7 OR at http://ieeecs-madras.managedbiz.com/pgms/2016/ictquiz/index.htm The shortlisted team members will also receive emails reg. the Regional Orals to be held at different centers.

All the others, who have taken the Prelims online test will get “Certificate of Participation” through email.
