IKEA Co-worker Principles

The IKEA Global Principles for Co-worker Relations and Co-worker Associations The foundation of the IKEA Global Principles for Co-Worker Relations and Co-Worker Associations are the Testament Of A Furniture Dealer, the Business Direction, the Human Resources Idea, our unique IKEA Values, and applicable legal requirements and principles. Co-workers are our most important resource. Each has the ability and responsibility to develop and perform. We base these Principles upon our values, culture and leadership. Principles

(1)

We seek to make IKEA an outstanding place to work which we achieve through a spirit of collaboration.

(2)

Our spirit of collaboration comes from a culture of open, honest and direct dialogue among all co-workers. We strive to nurture and develop that dialogue through effective internal mechanisms, which require active and candid participation by all parties to be successful.

(3)

We respect the rights of our co-workers to join, form or not to join a co-worker association of their choice without fear of reprisal, interference, intimidation or harassment. We will not facilitate a preference for a co-worker association. We believe the free exchange of ideas, opinions and information is critical to the ability of coworkers to exercise these rights, provided it does not interfere with our business or co-worker free choice.

(4)

Where co-workers are represented by a legally recognized co-worker association in accordance with applicable law, we are committed to establishing a constructive and cooperative dialogue with their representatives, and where appropriate, to bargain in good faith with such representatives.

(5)

Through our commitment to this dialogue, we challenge ourselves, our co-workers, and their associations to find innovative and sustainable solutions based on the IKEA culture of simplicity and cost-effectiveness.

(6)

All relationships contemplated by these Principles and the dialogue they encourage shall be based upon a foundation of mutual respect.

(7)

We commit to compliance with applicable national law and practice, strive to uphold relevant principles of international law where possible in accordance with national law and practice, and expect the same of our co-workers and their associations and/or representatives.

(8)

We expect our leaders to be proactively involved in co-worker relations, and possess the capabilities to manage co-worker relations issues in their daily operations based on their localized needs and applicable law and practice, in accordance with these Principles. Relationships and cooperation with co-workers and their associations shall generally therefore remain a local responsibility.
