Implant ContinuumTM Canada 2018 A movement from theory to practice. There are many excellent implant training programs available in both Canada and the United States. After obtaining a solid foundation in the field of implant dentistry through several weekend courses, countless hours of theory and some hands-on training on models, it is not always easy to start placing implants on your own. Many clinicians start with simple, straight-forward implant cases, usually “slam dunk” cases, which is a safe and predictable place to start. As time passes and the information you gained from your training fades, it becomes a challenge to treatment plan and confidently perform more complex cases. If this sounds familiar and you would like to be part of a program that can help you achieve your goals in implant dentistry, then Implant ContinuumTM Canada may be exactly what you are looking for.

Implant ContinuumTM Calgary presented by Dr. Natalie Wong Dr. Natalie Wong graduated from the University of Toronto with her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1996 and received her Certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2007. She is the only dentist that has attained a combination of the U.S. Board Certification in Implant Dentistry (Diplomate from the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI) - 2003), U.S. Board Certification in Prosthodontics (Diplomate of American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP) - 2008), and Canadian Board Certification in Prosthodontics (Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada - 2008). She is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), and holds Fellowships with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the Misch International Implant Institute Canada for which she is also a Faculty Member. Dr. Wong has served as the Co-Director and a clinical instructor in the Implant Prosthodontic Unit in the Graduate Prosthodontic Department at the University of Toronto. She has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral Implantology, Department of Periodontology, Temple University. She is a past-president of the ABOI and is currently the Treasurer for the AAID, President of the Association of Prosthodontists of Ontario, and Founder and Director of the Toronto Implant Institute Inc. Dr. Wong lectures nationally and internationally on implant dentistry and continues to practice both the surgical and prosthetic phases of implantology in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Implant ContinuumTM Winnipeg presented by Dr. Allen Aptekar Dr. Allen Aptekar studied at the University of Toronto, earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. He continued his studies at the University Of Saskatchewan College Of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with distinction. Dr. Aptekar then went on to complete a hospital residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center and the University of Toronto with a special focus on emergency dentistry and oral surgery. He is a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Aptekar is also a faculty with the Misch International Implant Institute Canada. In addition he is the editor in chief of the Journal of Clinical and Practical Oral Implantology. He has authored and co-authored several articles in refereed professional dental journals. Dr. Aptekar is actively involved in lecturing on many dental implant related surgical topics to both dentists and denturists. He practices in the greater Toronto area, where he limits his practice to surgery, with a focus on the surgical and restorative phases of dental implantology and bone augmentation.

Implant ContinuumTM GTA West presented by Dr. Stephen Diana Dr. Stephen Diana graduated from the University of Toronto in 1997, after which he completed a dental internship at the Toronto General Hospital. He has invested countless hours in continuing his education in general practice and implant training throughout Europe, Canada and the US. After completing a broad spectrum of continuing education in the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry, he furthered his treatment scope to routinely include treatment of hard and soft tissue defects. With years of clinical experience with numerous implant companies, Dr. Diana lectures on the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry nationally. Among many others, he conducts an extensive and comprehensive surgical course to include a resourceful didactic element as well as clinically directing participants while placing implants on live patients. He has a defined focus on patient management and treatment planning. He encourages practitioners to embrace implant therapy and to confidently expand their treatment plans to include implant therapy. Dr. Diana is a long-time member of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is a mentor and is available as a valuable clinical resource to their practice. He has been in private practice since 1999 in Georgetown, Ontario.

Implant ContinuumTM Mississauga presented by Dr. Rajeev Chopra Dr. Rajeev Chopra began his dental career at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated in 2000. Following his first year of practice, Dr. Chopra continued to build on his dental education by completing a dental residency at the Medical College of Ohio Hospital. From Ohio, Dr. Chopra moved on to further his hospital surgical experience in Brooklyn, New York. He worked within the North Brooklyn Health Network Hospital system. Dr. Chopra then went on to complete a mini-residency program at the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute. He has since been designated as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Chopra is actively involved in the continuing education community and is a member of various organizations, including the Canadian Dental Association, the Halton Peel Dental Association, the Toronto Implant Institute, the Frank Spear Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He is licensed to practice in Canada, as well as, most of the United States. Dr. Chopra has completed extensive hours of additional training in the areas of oral surgery, periodontics, and implantology. He regularly attends numerous continuing education courses every year and has a special interest in the comprehensive rehabilitation of the complete dentition. Dr. Chopra routinely performs implant procedures, gum and bone grafts, sinus elevation surgeries, complex endodontics, and impacted wisdom teeth removals. He also has a keen interest in the management of dental-phobic and anxious patients through the use of parenteral intra-venous sedation techniques. Dr Giguère a fait sa formation en implantologie entre autre à L’institut Canadien d’implantologie depuis 2003, et depuis a travers diverses formations et congrès internationaux. Il est un membre de l’ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists) avec qui il a reçu un Diplomate en 2009. Son cheminement l’ont amené à diverse formations à travers les années avec entre autre : Formation de greffes osseuses avancés Du Dr Pikos et Salama, formation avancé à l’institut Misch, et gestion de tissus mou du Dr Steigmann sans parler des fréquentation a multiples congrès internationaux d’implantologie. Dr. Giguère est reconnu comme un «mentor» à ses collègues conduisant un cercle d’étude en implantologie et aussi agissant comme conférencier lors de séminaires de formation mettant en évidence de nouvelles opportunités pour une approche complète et évolutive à la dentisterie incluant les nouvelles approches CAD/CAM.
