Resilience in Action: Improving Food Security and Nutrition Outcomes The Fourth FSN Network Regional Knowledge Sharing Meeting November 13-15, 2012 Madison Hotel Washington, DC Registration is now open for the fourth Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) Network Regional Knowledge Sharing Meeting. The meeting will bring together grantees, donors, and researchers for peer learning, knowledge sharing, and networking around implementation strategies and practices for strengthened resilience and improved food security and nutrition outcomes. Plenary Sessions on Resilience The Resilience Agenda: Emerging policies at the donor-level and what they mean to the implementation community. Speakers include Nancy Lindborg (to be confirmed), USAID Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Affairs and Tim Frankenberger (confirmed), president, TANGO International.

Concurrent Sessions on Resilience and Related Topics Resilience in Action: Leading food security and nutrition implementers showcase what resilience means at the program level. Topics include measuring resilience, program integration, capacity strengthening in disaster risk reduction and early warning, social resilience, gender in resilience, and market-based approaches to reach the most vulnerable. Speakers include Mara Russell (Land O’Lakes), John Russell (World Vision), Jon Kurtz (Mercy Corps), Tom Remington (CRS) and many other leading experts from the implementation community. Other topics at the event will include community engagement in nutrition, theory of change, promising practices in capacity strengthening of local organizations, agriculture nutrition linkages, fraud prevention in commodity management, USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting Framework, matching goals and resources in program-level research, motivating community health workers, and many more.
