Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of Infection Prevention & Control, this position is primarily responsible for assisting with the corporate work (applicable to all Covenant Health sites and facilities) of the IPC Program including: audits & reviews, product evaluation, and accreditation among other program activities. The successful candidate will be an experienced Infection Control Practitioner who has demonstrated the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of Covenant Health in all aspects of the role. A position description is available on request.

Qualifications: • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or other health related science is required (Masters preferred) • Active and ongoing registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or an applicable licensing body required • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) required • Annual certification in Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Level C-Health Care Provider required • Minimum five (5) years of related healthcare experience is required. Knowledge of care practices across the continuum is preferred • Recent experience in Infection Prevention & Control required • Previous audit (MDRD/OR/Facility) and surveillance experience required • Computer knowledge and skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is required • Demonstrated ability to work enthusiastically, with dedication and collaboratively, with internal and external partners • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required • Candidate must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (travel between the Covenant Health sites is required)
